Both Mazdamundi and Kroq-gar have early game economy fix with high income settlements. Lizardmen have the best unit roster in the game, they're held back by weak economy though. Tyrion is easily the best LL for beginners, avoid Imrik and Teclis. Starting position is really good, with a few exceptions. High Elves have the strongest economy in game and unit roster focused on quality over quantity so you don't have to babysit everything.

Avoid - Skaven, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts, Chaos, Beastmen, Norsca.

Not great, not terrible - Dark Elves, Vampirates, Dwarfs, Greenskins, Wood Elves, Bretonia.

Good for beginners - High Elves, Lizardmen, Empire.

They are also protected against the chaos invasions due to the location of ulthuan unlike the empire that on top of its surrounding enemies gets hit the hardest by the chaos Invasion. The high elves, tyrion specifically, have the easiest campaign due to being surrounded by allies, having a few legendary and powerful lords to confederate and a crazy good unit roster including strong melee infantry, powerful archers in sisters of avelorn, acceptable cavalry, flying beasts like eagles and dragons and they even have access to magic. You Arena surrounded by orcs which are fun to play against and alot of dwarven allies that can hold their territories on their own. The dwarfs have a really sturdy roster focussed on highly defensive infantry with MAD missile units to do the damage. The Empire used to be a really good campaign but with the Update to the vampire AI,the Addition of rakarth and the other empire subfactions not helping each other out it has become a nightmare to play.
